I can't find anything in the help section. I intend to keep a certain amount of liquidity (cash) in the broker or my bank account (Danske), as an emergency fund. Even if depreciated by inflation, that has to be risk-free as far as investments go. Danske offers 0.4-0.8 (depending on the amount). Does Saxo offer anything?

Edit 2 Possible theory as to what happened; So, as I was talking about it with another ape just now, I had a possible lightbulb moment. The divvy shares must have been distributed from the top down to our brokers. Which means they were held under someone's/something's account at a point. Then they had to be transferred to our accounts. What if the administrative close of our exisiting position was necessary to generate the cash required in our account to 'purchase' the now 4x shares. That would be a zero sum transaction if they forfeit the transaction frees and would make it all work administratively.
This feels like a reasonable explanation, but not one I have heard yet from my broker. Any opinions on it? It sounds more plausible than fuckery at least. Though fuckery would be better. For MOASS at least.

As a Euroape from the Netherlands I have purchased my stocks via Saxo Bank. On the morning of the splivvy I noticed, like many other apes, that my position was closed on the night of the 21st and re-opened on the morning of the 22nd. Lots of speculation is going around at the moment on whether this is legit or a purely administrative glitch.
I had a call with Saxo and asked them to clarify. It was my understanding that in a split via dividend the only action on my portfolio should be the addition of 3 shares for each share I hold. Not the closure of current positions and opening of a new position times four.
Their response was (in Dutch and translated) as follows:
As a follow-up to our phonecall, I sent you this message. The Gamestop corporate action has been correctly processed, as reported by our department of Corporate Actions. To the market/custody, so our custodian, has been told this is a 4:1 stock split. So it is not a stockdividend of 3 shares per share held. It might be that the fund (sic) publicized it as such, but if this is not communicated as such to the market, this will not be administratively registered as such.
I just got off the phone with them again and explained why the above was factually false and that either Saxo or their custodian broke the rules somewhere. Their current stance is twofold:

1. "The endresult in your portfolio is the same, isn't it? Why does it matter?" That was literally the representatives stance. Why do the rules matter if it hasn't cost me (seemingly) anything?
2. "It is probably miscommunication about the position close and open and probably just how it administratively works". This is the most prevalent theory at the moment, I believe. And one I am inclined to believe, because a big conspiracy sounds less likeley. However in light of the response I received earlier (above) and the fact that they are pretty much saying "its just a presentation error, trust me bro" makes it sus to me.

There are two financial authorities in the Netherlands that keep brokers in check, or at least should, and those are the Dutch Bank and the Authority of Financial Markets (AFM, the 'Dutch SEC'). I spoke to the former who say this is AFM territory, so I will be contacting them on Monday.
I am not yet convinced of malicious wrongdoing by Saxo until I have proof. But I am also not convinced this is 'just a presentation error' until I have proof. I expect their next reply will be another 'trust me bro'.
Hopefully they are willing to disclose the name of their custodian if they refer to them again and I will ask the AFM to verify their statement. The basis for their involvement being "They say I must ignore the data their system tells me and I do not have the means to verify what they say is true".
I also have my shares with De Giro but I can handle one battle at the time ;-)
