Strategizing student loans: choosing the lowest payments with no plan of paying off the whole balance?
The balance on my spouse’s federal student loans is currently about $70,000. On an income-driven repayment plan, we get the remaining balance forgiven after 25 total years of payments (https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/repayment/plans/income-driven). If # of remaining months x $ monthly payment amounts = less than the balance ($70k), is it a solid plan to choose a payment plan with the lowest possible $ and count on the forgiveness of the rest at 25 years? I know that choosing lower monthly payments will mean more money owed over the course of the loan. Yet if it will be forgiven after 25 total years, we could ultimately pay back less than $70k, the current balance. Is this a sound idea, to choose the lowest payments instead of trying to ever actually pay off the whole balance? My fear would be that we’re misunderstanding and have to ultimately pay more than $70k to pay off these loans. How are others understanding this? Thanks.

Requested refund of Pandemic payments - Loan balance increased - money has not arrived
About 60 days ago I requested a large portion of my pandemic payments to be refunded as the last six months have been financially tough. My work is directly related to building and the housing market which has been crushed recently. I knew it would take some time to get the money but today I noticed that my loan balance with Mohela increased by the amount I requested back but I have also not received said money. I was told by the rep that the money would be directly deposited into my account by the Fed since that is how I had always made the payments. She also said my loan balance would not increase until the money was sent. Which I have not received. As of right now I am assuming maybe I am being sent a check, but I obviously don't know. Anyone else have his issue and how long did it take to receive your refund?

Help interpreting payment method of child support owed balance
Hey guys, so this is my first month receiving child support through the Attorney Generals Office who are garnishing my ex's wages. So far I've received 2 payments for November. However, there is currently a remaining balance of $115.68 owed for November. The Attorney Generals Office states that they are garnishing the correct biweekly amounts; the remaining balance will be paid off the next time there are 3 pay periods within a month. Does this sound correct to you guys? Because I feel that the majority of the months won't have 3 pay periods, just 2, so I will have an owed balance the majority of the time.
Here is what our court order states with regards to the monthly support amount: INCOME WITHHOLDING...Any income withheld from EX'S disposable earnings for child support and paid according to this order shall be credited against his child support obligation, but shall not discharge any of his child support obligation that exceeds the amount so credited. It is FOUND EX is liable for all court ordered child support, regardless of the amounts withheld by any employer or entity, and EX is ORDERED to pay any court ordered child support not withheld by any employer or entity directly to the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit as ordered.
My interpretation of the order is that he's responsible for paying any funds that were not garnished directly to the state? What is your opinion? Is my assumption wrong?

Does a $0 statement balance interrupt a streak of “on time payments”?
In order to get the security deposit back from my credit card, I need to make 6 consecutive on time payments. I accidentally zeroed out the card balance before my statement date instead of leaving a small balance on it. I am wondering if since I technically don’t need to make a payment this month, will it interrupt my streak of consecutive on time payments. I know that I will know the answer in another month, but I’m curious now and can’t find a good answer online, haha. Thanks in advance! :)
