I am here to tell tale of an upcoming event that will be the first and greatest of its kind: a continuous 600 hour long session running the entirety of The Dungeon of the Mad Mage – sounds “mad” right? This is an international effort with DMs from around the globe to beat two world records! The first – longest session ran by 1 DM (110 hours) and longest session ever ran by a team of people (209 hours). This 600 hour event is set to start December 1st at 8 AM CST and go all the way through December 25th at 8 AM CST. It will be live-streamed as well at Twitch.com/paladinsarchives. This is also going to be a charity event with the specific charity yet to be chosen. As passionate and hardened I am, this is not an event that can be done alone. This event is meant to be run by a team of 10 Dungeon Masters that will alternate throughout the event in 4 hour segments until the very end when Halaster Blackcloak is defeated on floor 23! Currently, we are a team of 7 DMs looking for 3 more DMs to assist in the organizing and setting up for our grand marathon of madness. This is an endurance event which means that we are going to be doing a lot of work from now up to the event and through the event itself. The logistics and organizational aspect of it are very crucial thus we are looking for people that are:
Able to commit 20 hours (5 sessions) of DMing a week at most in the case that another DM or two drops off during the event– currently our math puts everyone at 16 hours (4 sessions) a week.
At least 5 years of DM experience
Great at communicating with many people in an organizational way
Positive attitude with enthusiasm and love for Dungeons and Dragons – extra points if you have been called a bit crazy for doing big projects of amazing scale for DnD!
Good tech: Camera, microphone, internet connection, and PC
In addition to the above we also are MOST interested in people with the following skills:
Media editing experience
Experience with communicating and reaching out to public entities and public speaking- news stations, celebrities, famous groups, being interviewed live
Experience with managing and operating different media for advertising

World Record for Longest Session - 600+ hours - A call to DMs
Hello, everyone. My name is Paladin Reizo, and I am planning on running the longest session ever in history doing Dungeon of the Mad Mage (an estimated 600 hours of content) from December 1st 8Am CST to December 25. To accomplish this feat, I am in search of 3-6 other Dungeon Masters willing to help with organizing the start -- doing some prep, making key decisions on how to organize the event, and taking part as the main group of DMs to participate in the event. THE GOOD NEWS: 85% of the prep is already done! Most of the maps are already done! thanks to Roll20. its just a matter of adding small details and adding 2 or so other maps for the campaign. Theres also the PCs to make, which wont take a lot of time. To accomplish this feat, we are in search of five other Dungeon Masters willing to help with organizing and participating in this event. PROGRESS THUS FAR Since the last time this was posted, we had:
accepted 6 DMs to the team, created 2 roles (Mad Mage and Mad Scribe), and made 2 separate teams (East half of world and west half of world).
Mad Mage Role - This group of DMs is going to focus on narrating and doing the traditional DMing for the event.
Mad Scribe Role - This group is going to be Co-DMing by updating and writing notes, working technical logistics, and managing the switching of players as people come
Foundations: We are in this phase right now laying down the main logistics of the campaign and deciding how to organize 25 days of people. We have our first meeting this Saturday in order to finalize a lot of information. We are still ongoing on discussion, but we have about 80% of the logistics already laid out.
Prep: The maps are almost all done. We are going to be starting making character sheets soon and also doing a lot of other things in this phase like player recruitment, contacting charity, reaching out to sponsors, getting shirts made, getting art made, and so on.
THE GAME PLAN Paladin Reizo will do the first 120 hours of the event to break the first record- longest session done by a single DM. After that initial record break, I will take a break for a day or two while the rest of the DM team takes turns in 4+ hour increments. After resting, Paladin Reizo will continue to do 8-12 hour games everyday up until the end of the event while other DMs pick the times they want to DM for at least 4+ hours at a time and committing to do 20 hours of sessions a week -- realistically this wont be the case as some DMs will do more and between 9 other DMs the number comes out to 16 hours, but having more people ensures we can continue on if one or two DMs drop. The game will consist off DMs that are narrating and rolling the dice (called Mad Mages) and DMs co-dming by handling logistics of switching players, updating sheets, updating inventories, and technical support on the side (Mad Scribes). We will start player recruitment to look for players that can commit to at least 20 hours of play of sessions a week (or 5 sessions) who will serve as the core main anchors of this event to give it legs and get us to the end - this group will be called the Mad Knights. After we have found our main group of dedicated players, we will loosen recruitment to fill in holes in times. We also will be looking for standby DMs and Players in case something falls through. This whole event will be streamed live, though I was told by moderators I am not allowed to advertise the stream or where its at or my discord server, so I cant post information directly, but I do urge people that are interested to complete the form below to contact us. Why are the dedicated players called Mad Knights? Paladins Archives has a ranking system, and Knight is the highest title that can be given freely by Paladin Reizo to give notoriety to a person that is most excellent as a person and player.
