Topology in biology. A quantum systems phenomenon could now make its way into biology: New study shows that the notion of topological protection can also apply to biochemical networks. As these are typically complex and yet remain stable, topology can help in the emergence of robust oscillations.

what's the difference between biological and biochemical reactions?

I've got an essay on "The importance of water in biological and biochemical reactions." and water being a "universal solvent".
I've planned out some topics to answer the question but then I realized I don't actually know what these reactions are.
Aren't biochemical reactions to do with chemical reactions inside your body like respiration? I'm unsure on what to do about biological though
Here's my little plan but if you can't see it, it doesn't matter much.

ELI5: I have a lot of muscle tension and soreness, and I am also a baker. I was trying to stretch out and my muscles feel like they snap back, so I made a joke about feeling like dough that won't roll out. I'm genuinely curious: how do these two mechanisms compare on a biological/biochemical level?

Biochem and Molecular Biology

Hi all. I am currently looking at transferring to LU in the spring 2023; and to major in the Biochem and Molecular Biology program. My 3-5 year plan is to matriculate into a medical school after graduation. For those who are either science majors or who know about the majors within the bio/chem department, what all can you share about these majors specifically at Liberty? Would you say that the curriculum prepared/s students well enough to preform on future exams/challenges? I know LU has great accreditations, but I would like to hear from the perspectives of those who are students/faculty.

Tulane’s MBS (masters of biomedical sciences) in biochem and molecular biology

I just applied to this program for my gap year before I apply to medical school but I haven’t been able to get enough info about how competitive it is to get into the program. I wanted to know if anyone has any information about the program admissions!

[Offer] Biochem 1, Biology and Chemistry tutoring for Highschool.

Hey, First things first.
I teach using a stylus either through discord or zoom (I prefer discord). I am a 4th year Biotech student and currently working as a researcher at a lab. Looking to make some extra bucks and do what I love, teaching.
My rates are non negotiable, for chemistry it's 20 dollars an hour and for Biochem/Biology it's 25 dollars an hour. One trial class of half an hour is free.
Payment only via PayPal.

Before starting college to major in biochem, should I have any prior knowledge of it other than biology and chem?

Hey guys. I'm a hs senior and I want to major in biochem. I am good at chem and bio too. I chose to further pursue chem to get some college credit while in highschool. I joined this sub to get some insight into what I would be dealing with and I am just lost. Sure, I understand how some basic bio processes work, but this is completely foreign what I see in this sub (lol). I understand that is why you take four years to study something for a bachelor, but is this what you guys felt when you started too??

Is there a generalization of Mirollo & Strogatz's Synchronisation of Pulse-Coupled Biological Oscillators for populations of excitatory leaky integrate-and-fire neurons with noisy driving force and sparse connectivity?

In the 1990 paper (pdf link) Mirollo and Strogatz proved that a population of excitatory current-based LIF neurons with full connectivity and enough driving force (or with resting potential being above the firing threshold) will synchronise with probability 1. They discussed it in the context of fireflies, but the dynamics are the same.
I'm wondering if there has been a generalization of this result to the cases of when the driving force is stochastic but on average strong enough to induce firing in each neuron (such as strong background Poisson noise), and to cases when there isn't full connectivity. This is something which seems to hold intuitively, but if it's been proven I'd love to know.
